Are blogger journalists?

Journalist is a profession with experiences and education. They have to be updated with the surroundings, as it is part of their career to write out to the people professionally. A journal has to be backed up by a research and appropriate facts to support it. A blog, on the other hand can be about anything, whether abstract or concrete.
Bloggers are not necessarily journalists as anyone of any age that have computer skills can become a blogger. There are indeed some bloggers who are journalists, earning money from what they write, especially from ads in their blogs but the amount of bloggers who actually earn enough to be classified as a journalist is scarce.
Many of the bloggers are young teenagers who are still studying. Young teenagers, who are experiencing major changes in their life are accompanied by strong emotions and confusions. These factors encourage them to write out their feelings in a medium and also share what’s happening in their life to their peers. Therefore, a blogger has the freedom to write about anything at all. It could be about a break up or a relationship, or just a simple post that they are tired and wants to sleep. Therefore, bloggers cannot be considered as journalists.
Besides that, many people blog to keep track of what’s happening in their life; sort of like a diary. It could be something significant to them, such as getting married or pregnant, but to the majority, it is insignificant. A journalist explores the content of what they want to write about and usually have plenty of ideas for general viewing. Bloggers, on the other hand only write what they want to and usually, lots of emotions are mixed in the post which makes it irrelevant to the public. Journalists also have to control a lot of factors in their writing pieces as to not offend anyone.
Journalist has certain requirements, like having good language skills and creative ideas. A blogger does not have to meet any pre-conditions to become one and hence they cannot be classified as the same. A blogger can write a post full of broken English and yet no one has the rights to complain. Journalists, do it for a living and a grammatical error can make them a laughing stock and pull down their market value. That said, a journalist is ‘realistic’ and practical.
In conclusion, a blogger cannot be put into the same group as journalists as they are two different things altogether. However, a blogger can choose to be a journalist, given enough effort and proper channel.
