Social media

Our social lives have been enhanced with the invention of the Internet. In the ancient times when even the telephone is not available, one has to travel and meet the person he/she wants to convey a message to by face just to transfer information between one another. In the present, with just a click on the mouse and a few strokes on the keyboard, messages can be sent at lightning speed.

With recent creations of social websites like Facebook and Friendster, people can communicate much more effectively with one another and get to know more people in the comfort of their own house. This factor has both its pros and cons, but definitely the first outweighs the latter.

Besides that, the creation of Youtube has made social networking expand. Normal people, with enough talents, skills or creativities can be famous with just a video. Going back to the old ages, for a normal person to be famous, he/she has to climb a long way up the ladder with so much of effort just to have a try whether he/she can make it out of the norm. In addition, Youtube has made our life more simpler. Tutorial videos are way more effective than just words and pictures, if a skill is to be learnt or any other example alike.

The present social media level can be easily pictured in a program we use in our daily lives, the MSN messenger or any other messengers alike. This particular evolution has made our lives simpler and helped us save costs and time by a big degree. It is also bad in a way that, this evolution made our generation lazier. As an example, assignment answers can be shared so easily that the benefits of our current social level is questionable.

In conclusion, social media with our current technology has both its pros and cons. The many choices of expanding our network socially should all be taken account of and be handled maturely as to not misuse what technology has given us.
