According to wiktionary, social media is define as media that is created to be shared freely.
Today's most popular thing among youth until the market place is the social networking website call the Facebook.
It is a must for most of the teenagers to login at least once everyday, if possible they will stay online on facebook for 24hours a day.
Because of its so popular, company are now advertising their latest product there.
Not only company are promoting themselves through facebook, bloggers are promoting their blogs there as well.
As for Me, I'm a facebook addict.
I'm on facebook as long I'm somewhere which have internet coverage.
How facebook help me?
For example, there is a rumors of Media Culture is canceled...
If more than 100 student is talking about it on facebook, that make the rumors true!

Same goes for me. However facebook is just an application on the web to update myself with my friend's latest information about how they are doing or what are they up to lately.
As to chat with all my friends and get in touch with them, i prefer to use Skype, as it's pretty smooth when it comes to video calling my friends from overseas. In addition, i could send video, mp3, pictures even documents to my friends.
I dislike short message service (SMS) as I'm lazy and as for my closed friends, we usually contacted each other through online games as we could interact while having fun.
short message service (SMS)waste money, and if some place which has bad signal, the person who sent the message won't able to reach to his/hers friends/families.Blogging is always the fastest way to be inform or leave a message.
yes,i would say i am strongly agree with this. There are so many things that we can do in just a website nowadays. We can just sit down,relax at home because everything can be done in just a click. I even felt uncomfortable if i couldn't get to login to facebook even only a day because i am worried that i would miss out alot of informations or activities that are happening in facebook. i am also allowed to plan or organize an event through facebook too without calling a person one by one and thus,increases my phone bill. I can do everything by inviting them through facebook.

I remembered last time Sir. Che Ahmad made a video about the postpone of submission of our assignment and post at Facebook to let us student to know that is a postpone of the submission, and also because that reason i started facebook.

ZS got a good point right there, I can't belief that we could get the information about the postpone of the assignment that quick.
I want to ask for opinion, through online games, connection could be connected through online games too. It's not just entertainment, but we could foster our bond with each other inside. Chatting, solving puzzles and quest, fostering bond, better than plain chatting, right?
Because when time it was too late for make a announcement by any traditional way , Sir Che Ahmad knew and understood the power and the advantages of Social Media,that why he choose to upload the video clip on youtube and share it on the most popular Social Media side which is Facebook and it was impressive and Effective
Based on what KooKooZai said,although I'm a ex online gamer,but i wanna to said that online games have it own advantages and disadvantages , it is just depend on how the users(players) play on it.Social media also have it own advantages and disadvantages,too.if anything is just on social media , that something will become meaningless.
yeah obviously nowadays u can see many people started to use facebook as their main source of communication among their friends. As the number of facebook users are increasing,it influences them to use other types of software to communicate with each other such as the 'Winndows Live Messenger' or 'Skype' like what KooKooZai said in the earlier post. I totally agree with it. Futhermore, i realise that not only teenagers or young children are interested in this kind of social media, even elderly people also are interested in this. For example my father also have an facebook account and he seems to like it very much. Besides that, like what ZS said about lecturers post videos or announcements in Youtube or facebook, i'm kinda impressed with their knowledge about Social Media as deep as teenagers or young children.
i totally agree with what Kong said in the last post. I can say that most of the online game users misused online game as the social media tool. This is because when they are communicating with each other, they prefer to use vulgar words more than proper language. So I feel that it will ruin a person's moral value and they will take that as their communication language and will use it on other situations.
At first Friendster, now is Facebook. These type of online community services are very famous among our social. Different types of people will be able to connect and contact with each other worldwide.
Through these services, we are able to contact our friends easily and get some new friends which have same interest with us.
In my experience, I am one live and study in Ipoh. When I was 15 years old, I moved to Johore Bahru. After 2 years of losing contact with my friends from Ipoh, I am able to contact with them through Facebook.
These services is an important part of our society because they will make a bond among all our friends.

yeaa,those popular networking sites like Myspace, Facebook and Twitter are social mediums most commonly used for socialization and connecting friends, relatives, and etc.
Like what had fook mentioned just now,we can able to keep in touch with ex-classmates, ex-school gang, ex-partners,
besides this, we can also get to know or inform each others about our recent condition and activities by providing them with updates continually.These updates often include test,pictures,audio or video.
Others than that,through several ways,the updated messages can be transmitted to social blogs,e-mail,instant messaging and including the web.
The Influence of internet is so powerful to social culture...and social culture will change over time....i remember when i was in high school... i will exchange my phone number with my friends to keep in touch...but nowadays,when we want to know a new friend..the first things we will ask is "do you have facebook account or msn"....all this shows that how importance facebook are....one things make me like facebook is i can find out all my primary and high school friend that aready lost contact...then continue keep and touch with them.....
Social media is making a strong bond among humans. Even big companies have spotted this advantage and advertise through social media. This method not only save a lot of money such as printing costs and it is effective too.
I agree with peggy-piggy, beside that we can watch short video clips on facebook on links to the short video clips. all these internet stuff can entertain us, they not just provide general information or some reference if you know how to gain entertainment from the internet, of cause from the positive sites, because there are many adult sites or harmful sites which bad for teenagers like us.
